Our Physicians
We want you to know plenty about your doctor from the start. So we’ve included a brief biography of the provider team at The Urological Center. But first, you should know that all our doctors are Board Certified in Urology. If you have questions that aren’t answered here, please ask.
Patrick J. Dennis, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Dennis graduated Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A. from the University of Maryland, College Park (1978), and earned his M.D. at the University's Medical School in Baltimore, where he graduated with honors (1982). He trained in General Surgery at University Hospital, The Milton S. Hershey Medical Center of the Pennsylvania State University in Hershey, Pennsylvania from 1982-1985 and did his residency in Urology at the same institution from 1985 until 1989 when he entered private practice with The Urological Center.
Dr. Dennis is certified by the American Board of Urology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is licensed to practice in Maryland and Pennsylvania.
Dr. Dennis has privileges to practice at Washington County Hospital, Waynesboro Hospital, and Fulton County Medical Center since 1989.
He is married with three wonderful children.
Kevin C. Hackett, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Hackett earned his B.S. degree from Georgetown University (1985) and his M.D. degree from Georgetown University Medical School (1989) where he graduated with academic honors. He was elected into the National Honor Medical Society in 1988. His post graduate training includes residencies in General Surgery and Urology at Georgetown University Hospital. He joined The Urological Center in 1995. Dr. Hackett is certified by the American Board of Urology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is licensed to practice in Maryland and Pennsylvania. He enjoys privileges at Washington County Hospital, Waynesboro Hospital, and Fulton County Medical Center.
Dr. Hackett is married and has three sons.
Richard C. Bryson, MD, FACS
Dr. Bryson is a board certified urologist who is proud to practice in his hometown of Hagerstown, MD. He attended Eastern Mennonite University and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry. He earned his MD degree and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maryland Medical School in Baltimore in 2010. He was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society during his junior year of medical school. He completed his internship in general surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center in 2011 followed by his residency in urological surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center in 2015.
Dr. Bryson treats all urological disorders. He has extensive experience in the treatment of urological malignancies including prostate, bladder, kidney and testicular cancer where he specializes in traditional open approaches as well as minimally invasive and robotic surgery. His other areas of interest include the treatment of complex kidney stones with percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL), benign prostatic enlargement with new minimally invasive treatments such as Rezum, minimally invasive and Robotic kidney surgery, erectile dysfunction and Peyronie's disease. Dr. Bryson received his certification from the American Board of Urology in 2017. He is a member of the American Urological Association and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Bryson lives in Hagerstown with his wife and three children. He enjoys spending time with his family and working on his small farm.
Dr. John Maggioncalda, MD, FACS
Dr. John was born in Vineland, NJ in 1968. He attended Bucknell University graduating in 1990 with BS in Biology. Dr. John attended Jefferson School of Graduate Studies earning a Ph.D in Molecular Virology in 1995, and continued onto Jefferson Medical College earning his Medical Degree in 1999. His Surgery and Urology training was completed at The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson in 2005.
Dr Maggioncalda started his his clinical practice in Urology at The Urology Specialists of the Lehigh Valley. From 2005-2015. He then moved to Tide Water Virginia region working for Riverside Urology in Gloucester, Virginia for 5 years before moving to Hagerstown, MD in 2020.
Dr. Maggioncalda Lives in Hagerstown wih his wife of 25 years, and his 3 children. When not cycling or flyfishing, Dr. Maggioncalda has managed to find time to play golf.
Bernadette Greco, MS CRNP
Mrs. Greco began her career as a Diploma RN from the Western Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Maryland with Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with Master of Science from the University of Maryland. She is a Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner with over 17 years of Urological Experience. She has had extensive experience in Urology, Emergency, Post Anesthesia, and Public Health services in North Carolina, New York, Texas, California, and Maryland. She joined The Urological Center in April 2007.
Mrs. Greco is a member of the American Urological Association, Nurse Practitioner Association of Maryland, The American College of Nurse Practitioners, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, The honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, and the Society of Urologic Nurses and Associates. She lectures at the University of Maryland.
Mrs. Greco lives in Howard County with her husband John. They have two grandchildren and three adult children.
Miranda L. Thomas, MS, CRNP
Mrs. Thomas has been a nurse for 20 years. She graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2001, with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. As an RN she worked at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury MD for 5 years. Once returning to Hagerstown MD, her bedside nursing career was completed at Washington County Hospital and, then later at Meritus Medical Center. While working at Meritus Medical Center for 13 years, Miranda worked in the Intensive Care Unit and Clinical Education.
In addition to her BSN, in 2011 Miranda earned a Master of Science Degree with a certificate in Education from Towson University. She later earned her Certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Purdue Global University in 2018. In 2019 Miranda started her CRNP career with The Urological Center.
Mrs. Thomas is a member of the American Association of Nuse Practitioners organization.
Miranda resides in Hagerstown, MD with her husband, 3 children and German Shepard Sarge.
